corduroyroad asked: I'm going to be moving in with my boyfriend in May. Over the past years I've collected many sentimental items (my owl collection, pieces of art, photos, frames, cameras, candles, odds & ends etc.) He has his stuff (trophies, hockey memorabilia, etc.) I didn't mean to be hurtful to him or anything, but I basically told him I didn't want his trophies and hockey stuff in the living room or anywhere where it will clash. He kind of took offence to it and said that I was being too controlling and that he didn’t want the apartment to be a “girly” place to live. The compromise would be him having his “boys” room but living in Vancouver, BC renting is expensive and we wouldn’t be able to afford anything more than one bedroom. I know that Mike is really laid back when it comes to decorating, but have you had any problems in the past? Or has he always been understanding? I don’t really want to give up what I like and keep my long treasured items in storage.
i’ve lived with one other boyfriend aside from mike. he was totally laid back about it as well. so i can’t speak from experience, but i CAN speak...
